The Mayor agrees and tells Tom that he has already ordered a shipment of cats to help with the rat problem.

The episode ends with Tom and the Mayor releasing the cats into the neighborhood to hunt down the rats. The cats quickly take care of the problem, but they also start attacking other animals and causing chaos in the town. Tom realizes that the cats are just as bad as the rats, but it's too late to stop them.
