Tracey Takes On is a comedy series where Tracey Ullman plays a variety of characters, each episode taking on a different topic or theme. In season 2 episode 8, entitled "Politics," Tracey tackles the world of politics with her wit and humor.

The episode opens with a sketch of Tracey as a political commentator, spouting off about the latest scandal in Washington D.C. However, as the camera zooms out, it's revealed that she's actually just a customer at a hair salon, and her opinions are falling on deaf ears. This sets the tone for the rest of the episode, where Tracey explores the disconnect between the political class and the average citizen.

Throughout the episode, Tracey takes on a variety of political roles, from a campaign manager trying to clean up her candidate's image, to a lobbyist trying to win over a senator with a gift basket. Each sketch is filled with sharp commentary, poking fun at the absurdities of the political system.

One of the most memorable sketches of the episode sees Tracey as a member of a focus group, charged with giving her opinion on a new political ad. However, the ad is so convoluted and incomprehensible that she can't even begin to decipher what it's supposed to be saying. The group leader keeps insisting that the ad is "powerful" and "effective," but the group members are all left scratching their heads.

Another memorable sketch sees Tracey as a Washington D.C. tour guide, giving a group of tourists the inside scoop on the nation's capital. However, she's more interested in gossiping about the politicians than in giving a history lesson. She tells the tourists about a senator who's rumored to have a mistress, a congressman who's always drunk, and a lobbyist who's so corrupt that he makes Al Capone look like a saint.

As the episode progresses, Tracey starts to realize just how futile it can be to try to change the political system. In one sketch, she plays a secretary at a senator's office who's tasked with answering constituent letters. She's so overwhelmed by the sheer volume of mail that she starts sending out form letters that have nothing to do with the original question. However, when a constituent actually comes to visit the office in person, Tracey realizes just how disconnected the politicians are from the people they're supposed to be representing.

The episode ends with Tracey as a voter, standing in line at a polling place on election day. She talks to her fellow voters, who are all disillusioned with the political system and don't believe that their vote will make a difference. However, Tracey encourages them to keep going and to keep fighting for what they believe in.

Overall, "Politics" is a hilarious and insightful look at the world of politics. Tracey's sharp commentary and spot-on impressions make for a truly entertaining half-hour of television. Whether you're a die-hard political junkie or someone who's just fed up with the system, this episode is sure to make you laugh and nod your head in agreement.
