But what is causing their sickness and how can they escape the curse?

The final story takes place in New England in the 1800s, where a doctor is investigating a strange illness that is sweeping through a small town. The illness causes the victims to have terrifying hallucinations, and some even die from the fear that it induces. As the doctor tries to solve the mystery of the illness, he begins to uncover a sinister plot that threatens the entire town.

Throughout the episode, Robert Englund shares historical artifacts and commentary to add depth and context to the frightening stories. "Fear the Unknown" is a chilling exploration of America's past and the terrifying encounters that people had with the unexplainable.
