True Terror with Robert Englund season 1 episode 5 is titled "Legends and Lore." In this episode, Robert Englund takes us on a journey of chilling legends and lore that have been passed down through the ages.

We start off with the story of the "Dark Watchers," shadowy figures that have been spotted on the cliffs of the Santa Lucia Mountains in California for centuries. The locals believe that they are the spirits of the Chumash Indians who once inhabited the area. Next up, we hear about the "Lechuza," a mythical owl that is said to be a shape-shifting witch. According to legend, the Lechuza is a harbinger of death and appears to those who have wronged her in some way.

Moving on, we hear about the "Devil's Chair," a cursed and haunted chair located in the Gardner Cemetery in Florida. Legend has it that if you sit in the chair at midnight, the Devil himself will appear. The story goes that several people who have dared to sit in the chair have met with terrible fates, leading many to believe that the chair is indeed cursed.

From there, we learn about the legend of the "Jersey Devil," a creature said to roam the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. The creature is described as having the body of a kangaroo, the head of a horse, and the wings of a bat. According to legend, the Jersey Devil was born to a witch and is the embodiment of all that is evil.

Moving on, we hear about the "Headless Horseman," a ghostly figure made famous by Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." The Headless Horseman is said to ride through the town of Sleepy Hollow in search of his lost head. Many believe that the legend is based on a real-life Hessian soldier who lost his head in battle during the American Revolution.

Finally, we hear about the "Skinwalkers," a Navajo legend about shape-shifting witches who can transform into any animal they choose. The Skinwalkers are said to be evil and use their powers to harm others. According to legend, the only way to kill a Skinwalker is to say their true name.

Throughout the episode, Robert Englund provides chilling commentary and insight into each of these legends and lore. From the origins of the stories to the people who have claimed to have experienced them firsthand, "Legends and Lore" is a spine-tingling journey into the world of the supernatural and the unknown.
