Ep 4. If I Can't Write My Chocolate Song, I'm Going To Take a Nap

If I Can't Write My Chocolate Song, I'm Going To Take a Nap is the fourth episode of the first season of Two and a Half Men. The episode begins with Charlie finding out that Jake has lice. He immediately freaks out as he doesn't want them to spread to him or Alan. Alan suggests they all shave their heads and Charlie suggests hiring a professional to take care of the problem.

Meanwhile, Jake's mother Judith is brought in to help with the lice situation. Alan is immediately smitten with her and tries to impress her with his knowledge of opera. She invites him to join her at the opera later that week, much to Charlie's surprise.

With the lice situation taken care of, Charlie gets back to work writing jingles. He becomes frustrated when he can't come up with a catchy tune for a chocolate company. He even tries to bribe Jake with $20 to come up with a jingle, but to no avail. He decides to take a nap and hopes that inspiration will come to him in his dreams.

In his dream, Charlie is visited by a group of singing chocolate bars who help him come up with the perfect jingle. He wakes up excited to write it down, but when he tries to remember it, all that comes to mind is the line "chocolate, chocolate, chunky mood." He is frustrated and decides to take a break from work.

Meanwhile, Alan is getting ready for his date with Judith. He wants everything to be perfect and asks Charlie for advice. Charlie gives him some tips, but also warns him that Judith is only using him for his opera knowledge. Alan ignores this and goes on his date.

The date is a disaster as Alan talks non-stop about opera and Judith seems to have no interest. She even excuses herself to go to the bathroom and never comes back. Alan is heartbroken and Charlie tries to comfort him.

The episode ends with Charlie still struggling to come up with the perfect jingle. He is visited by his singing chocolate bar friends again, but it doesn't help. He decides to give up on the jingle and instead suggests they go out for ice cream. Alan agrees and they leave the house, still unsure of what the future holds for them.
