Ep 9. A Good Time in Central Africa

As Jake is preparing to leave for the Army, Walden and Alan take him on a sentimental trip to Central Africa. Walden has promised to donate $100,000 to the charity supporting Central African children if Jake agrees to join the Army. While on the trip, Walden and Alan learn about the ongoing political unrest and dangers of the region but still try to make the best of their time there.

They stay in a luxury tent camp and go on a safari. Alan is excited to see all the wild animals, but Walden is more interested in taking selfies with them. Jake is not impressed with the safari and thinks it is his dad's way of trying to make him feel better about joining the Army. However, Alan and Walden encourage Jake to embrace the adventure and make the most of his limited time there.

When they visit a local village, they see firsthand the poverty and deprivation that the children are facing. Walden is moved to tears and decides to donate more money to the charity, hoping to make a difference in their lives. Alan is skeptical about the effectiveness of donating money to charity as he has had bad experiences with a charity in the past. Despite his reservations, he sees the positive impact that the charity has on the children and changes his mind.

Jake, on the other hand, does not seem to be affected by the poverty or the charity work. He is still adamant about joining the Army, and it takes some convincing from Alan and Walden to make him see the bigger picture. With only a few days left in Africa, they make the most of their time by going on an adventure, which includes zip-lining and bungee jumping.

As they prepare to leave, Walden makes one last donation to the charity, and they all say their goodbyes to the children. In the end, Jake is more open-minded about the world around him, and Alan and Walden both learn the value of giving back. Despite the dangers and hardships of the trip, they all agree that it was a good time in Central Africa.
