Van Helsing season 3 episode 4, titled "Rusty Cage," follows the survivor group as they continue their adventure in a world overrun by vampires. In this episode, they come across a new threat in the form of a group of humans who have been infected with a virus that makes them even more dangerous than the vampires themselves.
The main focus of this episode is on the character of Axel, who is forced to face his past and confront the demons that haunt him. The group stumble upon a dilapidated building where they believe they can find some supplies, but also discover a group of humans who have been infected with a virus that makes them incredibly hostile and aggressive. Axel recognizes one of the infected individuals as an old friend, and is forced to confront his own guilt over the way he treated his friend in the past.
Meanwhile, Vanessa continues her mission to find her daughter Dylan, and receives a message from a mysterious figure who claims to know where Dylan is being held captive. Vanessa must decide whether to trust this stranger and risk putting herself in danger, or continue her search on her own.
At the same time, Sam and Mohamad encounter a new group of survivors who are looking for a safe haven. Sam sees an opportunity to take control and establish herself as the leader of this group, but Mohamad is skeptical of her motives and begins to question her true intentions.
Throughout the episode, the tension between the survivors continues to rise as they are forced to confront their own personal demons and make difficult decisions in order to survive in this new world. The group's journey takes them to unexpected places, and the audience is left wondering what dangers they will face next.
