In the second episode of Velvet's first season titled "La Costurera," the audience is introduced to a new character, Doña Blanca (Amparo Baró), who is a renowned seamstress in the world of fashion. Doña Blanca has been hired by the Velvet team to work on a new dress design for the high-society wedding of Cristina Otegui, a wealthy businessman's daughter.

However, tensions rise between Doña Blanca and Ana (Paula Echevarría) as they hold conflicting visions for the design of the dress. Ana believes that the dress should convey a creative and modern aesthetic while Doña Blanca insists on a traditional and conservative approach. With the wedding fast approaching, the two seamstresses are forced to find a way to reconcile their creative differences and produce a dress that will satisfy both the bride's desires and their own.

While Ana is dealing with the pressure of the dress design, Alberto (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) has to face his own challenges as the new director of Velvet. Alberto is still trying to prove himself to his father, the owner of the store, and the rest of the team. The episode sees him struggling to balance his personal and professional life, leading him to make some questionable decisions that put him at odds with the rest of the team.

At the same time, a handsome Italian man named Marco Cafiero arrives at Velvet to sell his high-end fabrics. Marco immediately catches Raúl's (Asier Etxeandia) attention, but Raúl is soon disappointed when he learns that Marco is married. However, this does not stop Marco from trying to get closer to Raúl, who is hesitant about getting involved with a married man.

Throughout the episode, the audience also sees flashbacks into the past, revealing more of Ana and Alberto's history. It is revealed that Alberto was a sailor at the time Ana's brother Miguel went missing at sea. Ana blames Alberto for not doing enough to find her brother and this tension between them adds another layer to their complicated dynamic.

Overall, "La Costurera" is a drama-filled episode that explores the intricate relationships and dynamics within the world of fashion. As the characters try to navigate their personal and professional lives, viewers are left wondering what will happen next.
