Wild Thailand is a documentary series produced by National Geographic WILD that explores the untamed wilderness of Thailand. Presented by British actor Paterson Joseph, the show takes viewers on a journey through the diverse ecosystems of Thailand, from its tropical rainforests to its coral reefs.

The series is divided into six episodes, each one focusing on a specific area of the country. The first episode, titled "Jungle Kingdom", takes us deep into the heart of Thailand's rainforest, home to some of the most exotic and rare wildlife on the planet. Viewers are introduced to various species of primates, including gibbons and macaques, as well as the elusive clouded leopard and the endangered Asiatic black bear. We also witness the fascinating relationship between some of the animals and the indigenous tribes who have lived in the jungle for centuries.

The second episode, "Secrets of the South", takes viewers to the southern tip of Thailand, where dense mangrove forests line the coast and crystal-clear waters teem with marine life. Here, we glimpse the underwater world of Thailand's coral reefs, which are some of the most diverse and beautiful in the world. We meet the manta rays and whale sharks who visit the reefs seasonally, and get an intimate look at the tiny organisms that form the building blocks of the reef ecosystem.

The third episode, "Land of the Giants", brings viewers to the northern regions of Thailand, where massive beasts roam the countryside. Here, we meet the Asian elephant, the largest land mammal in Asia, and see how these majestic creatures interact with their environment and the humans who live alongside them. We also get a glimpse of the gentle giants of the sea - the dugongs - who graze on the seagrass beds along Thailand's coast.

The fourth episode, "Lost Worlds", takes viewers to the ancient forests of Thailand, where towering trees provide a haven for rare and endangered species. We meet the white-handed gibbons who swing through the treetops, the sun bears who roam the forest floor, and the hornbills who fill the canopy with their calls. We also see how conservation efforts are helping to protect these fragile ecosystems from logging and development.

In the fifth episode, "Island Paradise", we explore the pristine islands of Thailand's Andaman Sea, where turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and rocky cliffs create a stunning backdrop for a variety of animal species. We meet the playful macaques who inhabit the islands, the sea turtles who come to shore to lay their eggs, and the king cobra - one of the most deadly snakes in the world.

Finally, the sixth and last episode, "River of Life", takes us to the heart of Thailand's agricultural region, where the mighty Mekong River flows through the country. Here, we see how the river sustains not only the wildlife that depends on it but also the communities that live along its banks. We meet the giant catfish, who migrate up the river to spawn, and see how the river provides a lifeline for the farmers who grow rice and other crops in its fertile valleys.

Throughout the series, Paterson Joseph provides insightful commentary on the various species and ecosystems we encounter, as well as the challenges facing conservationists and indigenous communities in preserving this beautiful and fragile country. With stunning cinematography and a wealth of fascinating information, Wild Thailand is a must-see for nature lovers and anyone interested in the incredible diversity of life on our planet.
