Ep 6. Constant Cravings

Wynonna Earp season 1 episode 6, “Constant Cravings” opens with a glimpse of the aftermath of the shootout at Pink’s Derby. Dolls debriefs with his superiors about the events of the night and is shown exhibiting signs of addiction to some unknown drug. While investigating the possibility of another Revenant at large, Wynonna and Waverly are approached by a young woman named Gretta, who claims that her best friend, Chrissy, has been taken by a monster.

Wynonna and the gang investigate the crime scene and deduce that Chrissy may have been taken by a Chupacabra who has been preying on local cattle. However, the situation turns out to be more complicated than that when it’s revealed that Chrissy has been transformed into a half-human, half-Chupacabra hybrid and is on the run in the forest. The team splits up to track her down; Dolls takes on the role of a hunter, while Wynonna, Waverly, and Doc team up to search the forest floor.

As they search for Chrissy, they encounter a group of Revenants who are also on the hunt for the Chupacabra. They all soon realize that they are not the only ones searching for Chrissy and that she is in grave danger. Meanwhile, Dolls’ addiction to the mysterious drug worsens, causing him to behave recklessly and putting himself and his team in danger.

The main plot of “Constant Cravings” revolves around the hunt for Chrissy and her transformation into a monster. While the Chupacabra is a traditional monster from Mexican folklore, the episode puts a unique twist on the legend by having it infect humans and transform them into monsters. This adds a sense of urgency to the plot since the longer Chrissy is missing, the more likely it is that she will transform entirely into a Chupacabra and become a danger to herself and others.

Aside from the main plot, this episode also dives deeper into the character of Dolls. While his character has been something of an enigma up until this point, it becomes clear that he has a drug addiction that is worsening by the day. This subplot adds an extra layer of tension to the episode, as it’s not clear what Dolls is capable of and how his addiction will affect the safety of the team.

Wynonna’s no-nonsense attitude and bravery are on full display, while Waverly’s intelligence and resourcefulness shine through in her investigation of the Chupacabra’s attacks. Doc also has some interesting moments in this episode, particularly when he’s tasked with babysitting a traumatized Gretta.

Overall, “Constant Cravings” is a tense and action-packed episode that sets up several intriguing storylines for future episodes.
