"Yoga Zone" is a television program where a variety of teachers demonstrate a number of different yoga techniques. The series is typically shot in an outdoors location. Each episode corresponds to different goals one might seek to achieve through Yoga. The programs allow participants to ease into the process of using yoga for fitness. The beginners course is "Gentle Yoga". The stretches included are easy for anybody to perform. They are not as taxing as some of the more complex forms of yoga and provide a solid foundation for those wishing to start. The program "Conditioning and Stress Release" is another program for those just starting out with Yoga. It touches on one of the most basic fundamentals of yoga: breathing. The program is led by the founder of "Yoga Zone", Alan Finger. In addition to breathing, the instructor also touches upon a large variety of simple stretches for the body. Conveniently stretches are provided for sitting, lying down or standing. The straight-forward approach and relaxed pacing allows for a pleasant foray into the world of yoga. Once new entrants to yoga feel comfortable with this material they can move on to more advanced courses. In the intermediate series there is "Flexibility and Stress Release". The stretches and poses will provide a challenge, but this is balanced out by an extensive portion of meditative relaxation. For viewers who are looking for a serious challenge the series provides a "Power Yoga" tape. This program moves rapidly through the various poses, stretches and bends to provide an intense workout. There are many other programs in the series suitable for aspiring yogis of all levels. The "Yoga Zone" series runs 55 minutes long.
