Ep 1. Princess Yona

Before she can even comprehend the situation, she witnesses the murder of her father at the hands of Soo-won, who betrays the king and takes the throne for himself. In a confused and terrified state, she flees the castle with the help of her bodyguard Hak, who has been her loyal protector since childhood.

The rest of the episode follows Yona and Hak as they run away from the castle and into the surrounding woods. As they walk, Yona reminisces about her life as a princess, realizing how little she knows about the kingdom her father ruled. Hak then tells her that he has been keeping a close eye on Yan Kumji, the leader of the Fire Tribe, who he believes can help them in their quest for revenge against Soo-won.

The episode ends with Yona shedding tears as she mourns the loss of her father and begins her journey to find a new purpose in life. She is no longer the naive princess who spent her days living a carefree life, but a young woman who must face the harsh reality of the world around her.
