The council is made up of three girls, Mari Kurihara, Meiko Shiraki, and Hana Midorikawa. Mari is the president of the council, and she is very strict and uncompromising. Meiko is the vice president, and she is the one who takes care of the day-to-day operations of the prison. Hana is a member of the council who is obsessed with Kiyoshi and constantly trying to sabotage his plans. The boys quickly realize that they are in for a tough time in prison. Despite the harsh conditions of their imprisonment, the boys are determined to escape. They spend much of the show hatching elaborate schemes and attempting daring escapes, but they are constantly thwarted by the council and their own ineptitude. The show also features a number of supporting characters, including fellow inmates like the timid Andre and the rebellious Joe, as well as outside parties like Mari's father, the chairman of the school, and Kiyoshi's younger sister, Chiyo. Overall, Prison School is a dark, raunchy comedy that explores some uncomfortable themes. The show's animation is top-notch, and the voice acting is fantastic. Hiroshi Kamiya, Katsuyuki Konishi, and Kenichi Suzumura all turn in standout performances as Kiyoshi, Gakuto, and Shingo, respectively. The show is not for everyone, as it can be quite graphic and explicit at times, but for those who are willing to take the plunge, it is a hilarious and entertaining ride.
