In "A Matter of Trust," the third episode of Arrow's fifth season, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) struggles to juggle his responsibilities as both the Green Arrow and the Mayor of Star City. In the midst of his troubles, he must also deal with a new adversary who threatens to destroy the city.

As the episode opens, Oliver is seen attempting to balance his day job as mayor with his nighttime vigilante duties as the Green Arrow. His struggle is made all the more difficult by the fact that his team, including Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (David Ramsey), is no longer working together. In addition, Oliver is trying to keep his promise to Laurel (Katie Cassidy) to keep the city safe, but he is quickly running out of options.

Things get complicated when Oliver meets a new ally, Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), who is willing to do whatever it takes to protect the city. Wild Dog is a former Marine who has taken up crime-fighting after he was dishonorably discharged from the military. He has a rebellious attitude and is not afraid to confront bad guys head-on.

Oliver initially tries to recruit Wild Dog for his own team, but Wild Dog is hesitant to work under the Green Arrow's rules. Instead, he joins forces with a new villain, Tobias Church (Chad L. Coleman), who has plans to take over Star City's criminal underworld. Tobias is a dangerous and powerful adversary who poses a real threat to Oliver's mission to protect the city.

As Wild Dog and Tobias begin to make their move, Oliver teams up with a new ally, a tech genius named Felicity Smoak. With Felicity's help, Oliver is able to track down Tobias and Wild Dog, and he tries to convince them to work with him to bring down a dangerous new threat to Star City.

The episode features plenty of action and suspense, as Oliver works to stay one step ahead of Tobias and Wild Dog. There are also some touching moments between Oliver and his team as they struggle to find a way to work together despite their differences.

In addition to the main plotline, the episode also includes some intriguing subplots. We see more of Thea (Willa Holland) struggling with the after-effects of her bloodlust, and we learn that Diggle is being hunted by Argus for a mistake he made in his time as a soldier. Meanwhile, Oliver's new mayoral assistant, Susan Williams (Carly Pope), begins to investigate Oliver's past, which could pose a threat to his public image and his alter ego as the Green Arrow.

Overall, "A Matter of Trust" is a solid episode that serves as a strong continuation of the season's main plotline. It introduces some interesting new characters and sets up some juicy plot developments for future episodes. Fans of the series are sure to enjoy the action, drama, and character development that this episode has to offer.
