In the second episode of the first season of Dallas, titled "Lessons," the drama unfolds as the Ewing family tries to deal with the aftermath of J.R.'s shooting. As the family members come to terms with this traumatic event, they all have to face their own personal demons and insecurities.

Bobby is struggling with his guilt over the shooting and tries to confess to Pam, who is still angry and hurt over J.R.'s previous infidelities. But before he can come clean, Pam reveals that she is pregnant, and their lives take a drastic turn.

Meanwhile, J.R.'s mistress, Julie, tries to sneak into the hospital to visit him, but is caught by Sue Ellen. Sue Ellen is furious and wants to confront J.R. about his affairs, but is talked out of it by Dr. Elby, a family friend who gives her some sound advice.

As the family tries to move forward, tension between J.R. and Bobby begins to simmer as they both compete for control of Ewing Oil. J.R. wants to take over the company from his father, while Bobby wants to run it with his own vision. This conflict comes to a head when Bobby makes a bold move, putting everything on the line in a high-stakes gamble.

Meanwhile, in the midst of all the drama, Lucy gets involved with a rough and dangerous crowd, putting herself in harm's way. When she is caught stealing and arrested, Jock and Ellie step in and try to intervene, but it may be too late to save their beloved granddaughter.

Overall, "Lessons" is an intense and high-stakes episode that sets the stage for future conflicts between the Ewing family members. Each character is forced to face their own demons and insecurities, and the tensions between them only continue to grow as they fight for control and power.
