Ep 3. Female Author

In the third episode of Girls season 4, titled "Female Author," Hannah is excited to attend a writing workshop with a famous author named Chuck Palmer. She is joined by her friend, Adam, who is still struggling with his breakup from Hannah.

At the workshop, Hannah discovers that Chuck has a reputation for being inappropriate with his female students. Despite this warning, she continues to idolize Chuck as a writer and defends him when other women in the workshop express discomfort with his behavior.

Meanwhile, Shoshanna deals with the aftermath of her breakup with her boyfriend, Matt. She finds solace in her new job, which she is excelling at. However, her boss, Abigail, decides to fire her after Shoshanna accidentally insults her during a staff meeting.

Marnie, on the other hand, is still trying to launch her music career. She meets with Desi, her musical partner, to work on their upcoming performance. However, their creative process is hindered by their complicated romantic relationship.

Back at the writing workshop, Chuck invites Hannah to his hotel room to discuss her writing. Despite feeling uncomfortable, Hannah agrees to go. However, things take a dark turn when Chuck makes a sexual advance towards her.

The episode ends with Hannah wrestling with the decision of whether or not to come forward about Chuck's behavior. The episode showcases the theme of power dynamics and the #MeToo movement in the arts, as well as the importance of believing and supporting survivors of sexual assault.
