Snooki & JWoww is a reality television show spin-off of the popular and sometimes controversial Jersey Shore, filmed and produced by the company 495 Productions. The show is centered around the lives of celebrities Snooki and JWoww as they move into a former Jersey City firehouse together and experience hard decisions and responsibilities. Snooki and JWoww premiered simultaneously during the premiere of Jersey Shore's other spin-off, The Pauly D Project, which received a higher amount of viewers and ratings among them.

Those who have seen prior episodes of Jersey Shore know that Snooki and JWoww are best friends who rose to an outrageous level of fame after the premiere of only one season. Now there are 5 seasons of Jersey Shore released, as the 6th season is being filmed and edited. The main difference between Jersey Shore and Snooki and JWoww, which originally concerned the popular production company, is that Snooki and JWoww would be starring by themselves without the help of 5 other entertaining "guido and guidette" room mates. Not to mention, there would be no partying or drinking involved, due to Snooki's pregnancy.

The season premiere opened up with Snooki revealing to her parents and JWoww that she was pregnant and engaged. Prior to the season premiere, television media and tabloids went into a frenzy with constant rumors of Snooki's pregnancy and personal life. The show also covers issues of responsibility for Snooki and JWoww, as it becomes more apparent to Snooki that she needs to grow up and learn about parenting quickly.

For example, during a scene in the premiere, Snooki sits with her mother and talks about her confusion pertaining to basic daily functions such as grocery shopping. Other episodes include arguments over bachelor parties, ultrasounds and other doctor appointments for Snooki's unborn child, the decoration of the girls house, and a dinner which former room mates of the Jersey Shore were invited.

The premiere received a decent amount of viewers; 2.4 million to be exact. However, compared to Jersey Shore ratings, this number is a big disappointment to 495 Productions, MTV, and the young celebrity girls starring in the show. Jersey Shore on average receives a premiere of 6 to 8 million viewers. Snooki and JWoww also received an average rating of 1.1 among all viewers, ranging in ages 18 to 49. The show is still currently airing episodes every Thursday at 10PM on MTV.
