Ep 7. Heroes

In Southland season 5 episode 7, titled "Heroes," the officers of the Los Angeles Police Department continue to face the challenges of their job, both on and off duty.

Officer Sammy Bryant is dealing with the aftermath of a fight with his wife, Tammi. She has left him and he is struggling to come to grips with being a single father to their daughter. Meanwhile, Officer Ben Sherman is still dealing with the aftermath of the shooting he was involved in, which has left him traumatized and unable to sleep.

On the job, detectives Lydia Adams and Ruben Robinson are called to investigate a stabbing, which leads them to a gang-affiliated group of high schoolers. As they dig deeper into the case, they begin to uncover a larger conspiracy involving a corrupt city councilman.

Elsewhere, Officer John Cooper is enjoying the success of his new partnership with Officer Henry Lucero. Together, they have been taking down drug dealers in the neighborhood, but their success is threatened by the arrival of a new narcotics detective, who is suspicious of their methods.

As the episode progresses, each officer faces their own challenges and must decide what it means to be a hero in their line of work. Through it all, they continue to rely on each other for support and guidance as they navigate the dangerous streets of Los Angeles.
