Ep 19. Where Did I Come From?

Rob Petrie and his wife Laura are basking in the bliss of impending parenthood when Laura picks up a book with a curious title. "Whither Your Baby?," she muses. "Well, we know where it is," says Rob, "he's hanging upside down from a gas pipe in the bathroom." "But where did he come from?" Laura wonders, "I mean, how did we GET a baby?". With that, Rob sets out to teach his little wife a lesson in the facts of life, but he quickly finds himself in over his head. He tries to get advice from his co-workers, Buddy Sorrell and Sally Rogers, but their answers are either too complicated or too flippant. Rob then turns to his television writing partner, and best friend, Mel Cooley. Mel recommends Rob to attend "the Lecture" by Dr. Harrison B. McCraw, a medical expert and private physician to several movie stars. Rob agrees and attends the lecture with Buddy and Sally. However, the lecture is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances Dr. McCraw, whose wife is expecting a baby, rushes to the hospital, leaving Rob and his friends sitting alone in the lecture hall with the projector already revving up to show a film on how a baby is born. They insert the film into the projector and chaos ensues when the wrong film is loaded. The result is a hilarious film-within-a-TV-show, called "The Petries Expect a Stork," with Rob and Laura playing themselves, humorously reenacting every aspect of childbirth they'd ever heard of in their most playful manner.
