However, as Jim investigates further, he discovers that Callie was involved in a treasure hunting game with a group of locals, including the town sheriff, who may have had a motive to kill her. Jim's investigation leads him to a confrontation with the sheriff, which results in a tense standoff.

Throughout the episode, Jim also gets to know some of the other residents of Palm Glade. He meets a medical examiner named Daniel Green, played by Jordan Wall, who is obsessed with fishing and often gives Jim valuable information on his cases. He also meets a beautiful nurse named Jennifer Starke, played by Michelle Hurd, whom he becomes romantically involved with.

Overall, the first episode of The Glades sets up a compelling storyline and introduces viewers to a cast of interesting characters.
