Watch Anatomy of a Murder

Anatomy of a Murder is a 1959 courtroom drama directed by Otto Preminger. Jimmy Stewart is featured in the leading role as a Michigan attorney hired to defend an American GI named Manion (Ben Gazzara) in a murder case. A very seductive Lee Remick plays the GI’s wife Laura. The story is based on an actual 1952 murder case. Stewart defends Manion by claiming temporary insanity caused by the rape of his wife. The specific statute refers to irresistible impulse.
