The plane was stolen by a criminal mastermind named Gundars (Gary Cole) who threatens to sell the plane to the highest bidder if his demands are not met.

Owen Wilson plays Alex Scott, a top-secret agent who is assigned to be Kelly's partner on this mission. Alex is a gifted spy who is calm under pressure and excels in physical combat. Initially, Kelly and Alex have a hard time getting along because of their different personalities. However, they are forced to work together due to the gravity of their mission.

The mission takes the duo to Budapest, where they meet Rachel (Famke Janssen), a beautiful and elusive woman who Kelly is immediately drawn to. Rachel is a gallery owner who becomes the focal point of the mission when evidence suggests that she might be working with Gundars.
