In season 2 episode 6 of the animated children's show 64 Zoo Lane, titled "The Story of Audrey's Egg," Audrey, the ostrich, discovers a mysterious egg outside her burrow. She decides to take care of it, hoping it will hatch into a beautiful bird like herself. But taking care of an egg proves to be more difficult than expected, especially when the other animals in the zoo try to offer their own ideas on how to care for it.

Audrey is thrilled to have her own egg, and she immediately starts to care for it as if it were her own child. She reads books on how to take care of eggs, makes a nest for it, and even sings to the egg to soothe it. However, the other animals in the zoo are skeptical about Audrey's ability to raise a bird. Some, like the snakes and monkeys, believe she should keep the egg warm by wrapping it in cloth, while others argue that the egg should be kept cool by placing it in water.

Despite the conflicting advice, Audrey remains determined to do what's best for her egg. She continues to care for it, keeping it warm and turning it periodically to ensure it gets the right amount of heat. As the days pass, Audrey becomes more and more attached to the egg, dreaming of the day when it will finally hatch.

But Audrey's patience is tested when she discovers that her egg is not what she thought it was. In a surprising twist, the egg turns out to be a fish egg, not a bird egg as she had hoped. Audrey is shocked and confused, but she still refuses to give up on her egg, even though it's not what she expected.

With the help of her friend Alan the Aardvark, Audrey learns to adapt her care methods to better suit the needs of her egg. She builds a pool for the egg to swim in, and soon enough, a beautiful baby fish hatches from the egg. Audrey is overjoyed and names the fish Freddie, taking on the role of mother once again.

"The Story of Audrey's Egg" is a heartwarming episode about the importance of patience, determination, and love when caring for something new and unexpected. Audrey's journey to motherhood is filled with challenges and surprises, but her devotion to her egg, regardless of what it turns out to be, is an inspiring example of unconditional love. Young viewers will learn valuable lessons about the responsibilities of caring for animals and the rewards that come with perseverance.
