Eric and Annie are busy with Thanksgiving preparations for their family and guests when a stranger arrives at their doorstep looking for Eric. The man turns out to be Eric's estranged father, whom Eric has not seen in years. Eric is hesitant to let his father back into his life after he walked out on the family when Eric was a child. However, his father claims to have changed and is trying to make amends for his past mistakes.
Meanwhile, Simon is struggling with his newfound independence as a college student. He's been hanging out with his new girlfriend, Cecilia, more than he should, and it's causing tension between him and his family.
