7th Heaven Season 8 Episode 20 High and Dry

Eric is at the clinic getting his vaccinations updated and is surprised to see that Dr. Gibson is working there. He is back in town for a few weeks and has been working at the clinic since he arrived. Eric and Dr. Gibson had a bit of a falling out when Dr. Gibson decided to move to L.A. to work in a larger hospital. Eric was disappointed that Dr. Gibson left him without entirely taking over the Church land for his community center.

Meanwhile, Lucy and Kevin are struggling to get pregnant. A recent visit to the doctor has yielded a less than favorable diagnosis, and the couple is feeling overwhelmed. Lucy confides in her father and shares her frustration with the situation. Eric offers some wise words and encourages his daughter to stay optimistic.

Simon finds himself in a bind when he unexpectedly runs into an old friend who he used to smoke pot with. His friend offers him some drugs, and Simon is uncertain about what to do. He is a rabid anti-drug advocate now, and the thought of him engaging in that kind of behavior is disheartening.

Across town, Ruthie is dealing with some school drama. She has a crush on a boy who is friendly towards her but doesn't seem to reciprocate her feelings. After she learns that her crush is interested in someone else, she sees the two of them kissing and feels hurt and embarrassed. She confides in Lucy, who helps her see things from a different perspective.

Finally, Annie and Matt take a trip to the beach to interview some lifeguards for their book. They are both excited about the project and enjoy spending quality time together. However, when they get back to the hotel, they realize that their car keys are missing, and they are stranded. They call Eric and Matt is disappointed to find out that his dad is busy helping someone else. Annie reassures him that they will be okay and that they can figure it out together.

As the episode comes to a close, the characters navigate their challenges and find comfort in each other. Eric and Dr. Gibson share a meal together and discuss their past differences. Lucy and Kevin make a decision about their fertility treatments, and Ruthie realizes that she should focus on her schoolwork instead of worrying about boys.
