Emily Bryne wakes up in the hospital after being attacked by the street gang who had kidnapped her son Flynn. She is traumatized and overwhelmed with guilt for putting her loved ones in danger. Meanwhile, Alice Durand is recovering from her injuries after being rescued by Nick Durand from her abductor. Alice reveals shocking details about her captivity to Nick and suggests that Everett Lynch, the original serial killer who had orchestrated Alice's abduction, is still on the loose.

Nick and his colleagues at the FBI try to unravel the mysteries surrounding Everett Lynch, who they believe is hiding in plain sight and has possibly assumed a new identity.
