Ep 1. Tabula Rasa

Absentia season 3 episode 1, "Tabula Rasa", begins with Emily Byrne's return to Boston after being declared dead for six years. She wakes up in a hospital with no memory of what happened to her after the suspension bridge collapsed or how she got there. As she tries to piece together her past, she must confront the fact that her loved ones have moved on and may not be as welcoming as she hoped.

Emily's former FBI colleagues, Special Agent Cal Isaac and Nick Durand, are investigating a serial killer who targets women involved in a fertility clinic. Emily's own fertility issues become intertwined with the case as she races against time to find out who the killer is before he strikes again. Meanwhile, she tries to reconnect with her son, Flynn, who is struggling with his own demons.

Emily's sister, FBI Agent-in-Charge, Alice Durand, remains suspicious of Emily's sudden return and is determined to uncover the truth behind her years-long absence. Their complicated relationship is further complicated by the return of Emily's long-lost husband, Conrad Harlow, who is also seeking answers about Emily's disappearance.

As the investigation into the fertility clinic murders heats up, Emily becomes more and more convinced that her past and the killer's motives are intertwined. Her search for answers will lead her down a dark and dangerous path, putting herself and her loved ones in peril.
