Ep 1. Blaze

In the first episode of Absolute Duo titled "Blaze," viewers are introduced to the protagonist, Tor Kokonoe, a young man who has suffered a traumatic experience involving his younger sister, whom he has sworn to protect. Tor learns about a school called Koryo Academy, where students learn to harness their abilities in order to fight creatures known as "Savage," which can only be defeated by those who possess powerful weapons known as "Blaze." Determined to become stronger, Tor enrolls in the academy.

Upon arriving at the school, Tor experiences his first interaction with his new classmates. He meets a girl named Julie Sigtuna, who is a kind and friendly, but also quiet and reserved. It is clear that Tor is instantly drawn to her despite her reserved nature. He also meets a group of other students who seem friendly enough, but it is clear that there are some tensions between different groups of students.

Tor and Julie are then introduced to their homeroom teacher, Sakuya Tsukumo, who explains to them how the academy works. Sakuya is a kind and wise teacher who is determined to help the students succeed. She explains that in order to harness their powers, the students must learn how to bond with their weapons, which are extensions of themselves. This process can be difficult and painful, but it is necessary in order to become strong enough to fight the Savage.

After the introduction, Tor and Julie are taken to the training grounds to begin their Blaze training. The students are all given a weapon that matches their soul and must learn how to bond with it. Tor is given a rather odd looking pistol and is immediately skeptical. However, he is determined to learn how to use it.

As the training continues, Tor learns that his weapon, named Harem, has a unique ability which he can use to his advantage. With the help of his classmates, Tor begins to learn how to harness the power of his weapon. Although it is painful, he refuses to give up and is determined to become strong enough to protect his sister.

As the episode progresses, it is revealed that there is an underlying threat at the academy. A group of students, known as "Blaze Blacksmiths," are threatening the safety of the other students. These Blaze Blacksmiths have the unique ability to create weapons from the souls of other students. They are seen as a dangerous and unstable group, and it becomes clear that they are plotting something sinister.

Towards the end of the episode, the academy is attacked by a group of Savage, and the students are forced to band together in order to defeat them. Tor and Julie, along with their classmates, use their Blaze weapons to fight off the creatures.

Overall, the first episode of Absolute Duo titled "Blaze" does an excellent job of introducing viewers to the world and characters of the show. The episode is action-packed, with plenty of fight scenes and moments of tension. At the same time, it also manages to introduce the central themes of the show, such as the importance of bonds and the determination to protect others. The episode sets up the rest of the series nicely, leaving viewers wanting to know more about the characters and the world they inhabit.
