Ep 4. A Spoonful of Poison, Part 1

Agatha Raisin Season 4 Episode 4, A Spoonful of Poison, Part 1, opens with Agatha (Ashley Jensen) and James (Jamie Glover) leaving the office. A mysterious woman approaches them and asks for a particular person. However, Agatha cannot provide the information she is asking for.

The next day, the woman arrives at Agatha's office and introduces herself as Leanne Proctor (Hannah Waddingham), the cousin of one of Agatha's clients. She wants to hire Agatha to investigate a case involving her brother who was murdered seven years ago. Agatha is initially hesitant as the case is quite old, but she eventually agrees to take on the job.

Agatha and James drive to the small village of Winter Parva, the place where Leanne's brother was killed. They are greeted by the local police officer, Inspector Wilkes (Jason Merrells), who does not seem happy to see Agatha. Agatha quickly realizes that the people in the village are not interested in helping her solve the case and are actually quite hostile towards her.

Despite the challenges, Agatha and James begin to investigate the case. They visit the local pub where Leanne's brother worked and meet the pub's owner, Erica (Sara Stewart). Erica seems friendly at first but knows more about the case than she is letting on.

Agatha and James also speak with the victim's ex-girlfriend, Vicky (Victoria Brazier), who is still living in the village. She is reluctant to talk to them, but they manage to get some information.

As they gather more evidence, Agatha begins to suspect that the victim's murder may be linked to a series of burglaries that occurred in the village years ago. She also discovers that the victim was not well-liked in the village and may have had enemies.

However, things take a turn for the worse when Agatha and James are attacked while leaving the pub. Someone has taken extreme measures to keep them from uncovering the truth.

A Spoonful of Poison, Part 1, is a suspenseful and intriguing episode of Agatha Raisin. As always, Ashely Jensen delivers a captivating performance as the brave and determined private investigator. Viewers will be on the edge of their seats as Agatha and James navigate the twists and turns of this mysterious case.
