American Grit is a competitive reality TV show that aired on FOX from 2016 to 2017. The show is hosted by WWE superstar John Cena and features four military veterans, known as the Cadre, who lead a team of four civilians through a series of physically and mentally challenging obstacles. The goal of the show is to push the contestants to their breaking points and help them discover their inner strength and resilience.

The first season of American Grit premiered on April 14, 2016 and featured 16 contestants divided into teams of four. The Cadre were made up of Marine Gunnery Sergeant Tee Hanible, Army Sergeant Noah Galloway, Navy SEAL Commander Rorke Denver, and Army Ranger Nick Irving. Each week, the teams competed in a variety of challenges, such as carrying heavy logs, navigating obstacle courses, and surviving in the wilderness. The losing team would face an elimination round, where one member would be sent home.

Throughout the season, the contestants faced not only physical challenges but also emotional ones. Many of them had personal stories of hardship and adversity, and the show sought to highlight their struggles and inspire viewers to overcome their own obstacles. The Cadre served as mentors and role models, pushing their teams to never give up and always strive for excellence.

Emotions run high before the elimination challenge and some feel betrayed, but only one will survive this week.
