In American Pickers season 16 episode 4, called Twin at All Costs, the two picker buddies, Mike and Frank, head out to the scenic state of Wisconsin, hoping to strike gold by finding unique and sellable items. This time, they have their eyes set on the fascinating world of motorbikes, and they come across a rare and highly-coveted Henderson motorcycle.
The guys meet a friendly retired couple named Chuck and Cindy, who share their passion for motor vehicles. The couple has an impressive collection of antique bikes, cars, and memorabilia, and they're proud of their rare finds. But they have a particular history with their beloved Henderson bike. Chuck shares a heartwarming story about how he found the bike in a sorry state, and worked tirelessly to restore it to its former glory. He confesses that he doesn't plan on selling it, as it holds too much sentimental value. However, he and Cindy are happy to show the pickers around, hoping they can strike a deal on something else they would like to get off their hands.
Nonetheless, a little bit of friendly banter and horsetrading does happen, and the duo is delighted to find a few more noteworthy items, such as a rare front fender from a Harley Davidson speedster and some original Indian motorcycle advertisements from the early 1900s. They keep the momentum up, and continue their search for more great motorbike picks in Wisconsin.
Along the way, Mike and Frank also stumble upon another collection owned by Twin brothers, who are known for their love of vintage bikes. The Twins have an extensive assemblage of mostly Harley’s, and are happy to show Mike and Frank around their private showroom. They let the guys in on a few pickin’ secrets, and share their stories of the many adventures they’ve had while searching for antique motorbikes.
Mike and Frank can't help but be impressed by the Twins’ enthusiasm - and, of course, the stunning bikes that they have picked up along the way. The boys do manage to find a few interesting pieces to add to their own collections, such as an old Harley-Davidson badge, a unique Indian Motorcycle drinking glass, and a Vespa scooter with a fun backstory.
Overall, the episode is a delightful journey through the unique world of antique motorbikes, and another excellent installment of the long-running American Pickers series. Even if you're not a bike aficionado, you'll still enjoy the fascinating stories of the people behind the collections and the bits of history they hold. Whether you're a fan of Mike and Frank or just love the art of picking, Twin at All Costs offers plenty to keep you entertained.
