Ep 6. Easy Riders

In American Pickers season 2 episode 6, entitled "Easy Riders," Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are back on the road, searching for hidden treasures and rare finds. This time, the pickers are in California, cruising down the historic Pacific Coast Highway on their way to meet with some of their regular sources, as well as some new finds that have been recommended to them.

Their first stop is at an automotive graveyard, where they come across a variety of vintage cars and motorcycles, including a 1930s Harley Davidson VL that Mike is particularly excited about. The owner of the graveyard, a grizzled old mechanic, tells the pickers about the history of the vehicles, and Mike and Frank are thrilled to find out that many of them are still in excellent condition, despite being left to rust in the field.

The next day, the pickers head to a sprawling ranch owned by an elderly collector named Gus. Gus is known in the area for having an extensive collection of vintage motorcycles, and Mike and Frank are eager to see what he has to offer. Upon arriving, they are greeted by Gus's granddaughter, who takes them on a tour of the property, showing them everything from classic Harleys to rare Indian motorcycles.

In one of the barns, they come across an unusual find in the form of a vintage Indian sidecar rig. Gus tells them that he used to ride it with his wife back in the day, and he's hesitant to let it go. However, Mike and Frank manage to persuade him to part with it, and they make a deal on the spot.

Next, the pickers head to a villa in the Hollywood Hills to meet with a collector named Randy. Randy is a bit of an eccentric, with a passion for collecting vintage movie props and memorabilia. He gives the pickers a tour of his massive collection, which includes everything from original movie posters to rare costumes worn by legendary actors like Marilyn Monroe and James Dean.

Mike and Frank are particularly interested in a collection of vintage movie cameras that Randy has, one of which dates back to the silent film era. They manage to strike a deal, and Randy is happy to see his beloved cameras go to a good home.

As they head back on the Pacific Coast Highway, Mike and Frank reflect on their latest finds. They both agree that it was a successful trip, and they can't wait to get back out on the road again. With their trusty van loaded down with rare treasures and antiques, they set their sights on their next adventure.
