In American Pickers season 9 episode 11 titled "Louisiana Purchase," Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz head to the south to explore the unique and often strange world of Cajun culture and antiquing.

Their journey begins in New Orleans, where they meet up with local picker Matthew Hinton for a tour of some his favorite hidden spots. From old metal signs to vintage Mardi Gras costumes, the guys are treated to a variety of fascinating finds. But it's a stop at an old plantation outside of the city that really catches their attention. There, they uncover a rare and valuable collection of antique firearms and military memorabilia that once belonged to a prominent Civil War general.

Next, the guys head out to the bayou to meet with an eccentric collector named T-Bone. The Louisiana native has spent decades acquiring all manner of oddities and curiosities, from vintage vending machines to taxidermy animals. Mike and Frank are amazed by his extensive collection, which he stores in several ramshackle buildings scattered throughout his property. But as they begin to dig through the piles of items, they quickly realize that most of it isn't for sale.

Undeterred, the guys set their sights on a nearby town, where they've heard rumors of an old mechanic with a massive collection of vintage cars. They arrive at the property to find dozens of rusted-out vehicles scattered across the property, many of which haven't been touched in decades. Mike and Frank are eager to take some of them off the owner's hands, but negotiating a fair price proves to be a challenge.

Their final stop takes them to the outskirts of Lafayette, where they hunt down a sprawling junkyard owned by a father-and-son team. The duo has spent years collecting all manner of odd antiques and rusty metal items, and Mike and Frank are excited to see what they have to offer. But as they wander farther into the yard, they realize that navigating the maze of twisted metal and cluttered pathways will be a daunting task.

"Louisiana Purchase" is a thrilling episode of American Pickers that showcases the unique history and culture of the South. Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are at their best as they scour the backroads and byways, unearthing rare treasures and meeting fascinating people along the way. Fans of the show won't want to miss this exciting chapter in their journey.
