The Animals show is an animated comedy experience that focuses on the lives of different animals living in New York City. Each episode highlights the unique perspectives of animals and showcases their experiences in the human world. The show is designed for mature audiences and is a great mixture of humor, satire, and poignant social commentary.

Season 2 Episode 7, titled "Cats Part 1," is the beginning of a two-part series that specifically focuses on the lives of cats in the city. The episode starts with a black-and-white cat named Ratsy waking up in a pile of garbage behind a restaurant. Ratsy is voiced by Aya Cash and quickly establishes a humorous and sardonic personality. She walks around the city, navigating alleys and streets, and interacting with other cats along the way. As she moves from place to place, collected garbage and scraps attached to her fur.

Ratsy attends a meeting with a group of cats who live in an abandoned train depot. The meeting is convened by a cat with a British accent who brags about his position as the leader of the feline community in the area. The scene is mostly humorous, as the cats argue and bicker about petty issues, such as which cat is responsible for cleaning their litter boxes.

The focus quickly switches to a much more domesticated cat named Tabby. Tabby, voiced by Rachel House, is an indoor cat who lives with her owner in a high-rise apartment building. In this part of the episode, the show takes a more serious tone. Unlike the street cats such as Ratsy, Tabby lives a comfortable life, but she is clearly bored and restless. Tabby spends her days staring out the window and fantasizing about the freedom she could have if she just escaped from her apartment.

In the meantime, Ratsy and her friends start to plot a way to infiltrate the high-rise apartment building to take advantage of its resources. The plan involves Ratsy smearing herself with perfume to disguise her scent, and infiltrating the building through the air ducts. Meanwhile, Tabby is still feeling bored and decides to take a nap.

The episode then switches to a brilliantly choreographed musical number. The scene is set in an alleyway, where different cats from across the city gather to sing and dance. All the cats are animated in a variety of colors and styles, making for an enjoyable and aesthetically pleasing scene. The musical number continues for a few minutes, and the choreography and music are both well-executed.

Back in the high-rise apartment building, Ratsy is nearly caught by Tabby's owner while searching for food. She manages to escape, and Tabby decides to seize her chance and escape as well. She darts out the door and runs into the streets, although she has no idea how to survive on the city's rough terrain. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with Tabby just starting to explore the city in the dark of night.

Overall, "Cats Part 1" offers an entertaining and unique take on the lives of cats in the city. The episode does a great job of balancing humor, satire, and social commentary, while the animation style is creative and playful. While the episode is certainly designed for mature audiences, viewers of all ages can enjoy the humor and charm of the show.
