"Anna Karenina" (2000) is a British adaptation of the novel by Leo Tolstoy. The title character is a young woman who is unhappily married and who falls in love with a wealthy count. He is a bachelor and would like to marry her. A parallel story is that of Konstantin Levin and his relationship with Kitty, who is Anna's brother's sister-in-law.
