Anonymous Noise is a 2017 anime series that centers around the life of a young girl named Nino Arisugawa. The show revolves around themes of music, love, and loss. Nino has a unique gift - she has an incredible voice that can capture the hearts of anybody who hears it. However, Nino's gift has not always been happy for her.
As a child, Nino was very close to her childhood friend Momo Sakaki. They both loved to sing, and often performed together. However, one day Momo moved away without any notice, leaving Nino with a hole in her heart. In order to fill that hole, Nino began to sing constantly, even in the middle of class. Her singing became her way of coping with Momo's departure.
Years later, Nino is now a high school student, still singing at the top of her lungs. She's joined by two boys, Yuzu and Haruyoshi, who are both captivated by her voice. Yuzu soon becomes her friend and confidante, and Haruyoshi forms a band with Nino, which they name 'In No Hurry to Shout'. Nino joins their band and the trio sets out to perform at a local music festival.
One of the most interesting aspects of the show is its exploration of how music can be used as a form of communication. Nino's singing is not just a way to fill the silence, but it holds within it the emotions that she cannot express through words. The show uses music as a way to illustrate how people communicate their feelings to one another. It also shows how, in some cases, it's easier to communicate through music than it is with words.
As Nino, Saori Hayami is excellent. Nino's character is complex and multi-layered, and Hayami captures all of her facets. Nino is passionate, fiery, and full of emotion. Her love for music shines through in everything she does. Yet, Nino is also deeply insecure and full of internal conflict. She's constantly questioning whether she's good enough, whether she's making a mistake by pursuing music instead of something more "stable".
Haruyoshi, voiced by Daiki Yamashita, is another standout character. He's the bassist in the band and a quiet, introspective type. He's often the voice of reason, helping Nino through her difficulties. Yamashita breathes life into Haruyoshi's character, making him feel like a fully-realized person.
Koki Uchiyama's Yuzu is also a great addition to the show. Yuzu is Nino's childhood friend and her confidante. He's also a talented songwriter, helping the band with their music. Yuzu is the kind of character who makes you feel like he's been around forever - he's just that dependable.
Overall, Anonymous Noise is a touching and emotionally resonant show. While it doesn't shirk from the darker, more painful aspects of life, it's ultimately a uplifting story about love and the transformative power of music. The animation is beautiful, capturing the vibrancy and excitement of the characters and their world. And the music is fantastic - it's easy to see why it inspires such passion in Nino and her friends.
The show's exploration of different musical genres is interesting too. From pop to rock, Anonymous Noise's soundtrack is varied and engaging, bringing the story to life. The characters are all excellent, with each one bringing something unique to the story. Whether it's Nino's passion or Yuzu's reliability, you'll find yourself rooting for these characters as they navigate the choppy waters of adolescence.
In conclusion, if you're a fan of music-themed shows, then Anonymous Noise is definitely worth checking out. It's a touching story about love, friendship, and the power of music to connect us all. With great animation and an unforgettable cast of characters, Anonymous Noise is a show that will stay with you long after you've finished watching it.
