In episode 20 of Antiques Road Trip season 1, two expert antique dealers set off on a road trip through the picturesque countryside of England in search of hidden treasures. Their mission is to buy low and sell high at auctions, antique fairs, and flea markets, while preserving the history and craftsmanship of each item.

The two dealers, James Braxton and Mark Stacey, are highly knowledgeable and competitive, often vying for the same items and trying to outdo each other. James is a dapper and charming gentleman with a keen eye for art and elegance, while Mark is a down-to-earth and enthusiastic chap with a passion for quirky and rare objects.

Their journey begins in the county of Kent, where they explore the sprawling gardens and elegant manor of Penshurst Place, a Tudor masterpiece that has been in the same family for centuries. Here, they meet Lady De L'Isle, the gracious owner of the estate, who shows them around her collection of historic artifacts and paintings, including a portrait of King Henry VIII by Hans Holbein.

The dealers then head to the nearby town of Tunbridge Wells, where they visit a vintage fair and haggle with a group of eccentric dealers who offer them a range of items, from a Victorian taxidermy bird to a 1960s jukebox. James and Mark each find something they like, but can they make a profit on their purchases?

Next, they drive to the county of Sussex, where they visit the 17th century house of Charleston, a former meeting place of the Bloomsbury Group, a famous circle of writers, artists, and thinkers. Here, they meet Vanessa Bell's granddaughter, Cressida Bell, who shows them some of her grandmother's paintings and designs, as well as some unique ceramics and textiles made by her own hands.

In the town of Lewes, the dealers visit an antiques shop run by a quirky and chatty dealer, who offers them a range of curiosities, from a pair of antique spectacles to a vintage diving helmet. James and Mark are intrigued by the unusual items, but are they really worth buying?

Their final destination is the county of Hampshire, where they visit the grand estate of Highclere Castle, the setting of the hit TV series Downton Abbey. Here, they meet the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, who show them around their magnificent home and share some fascinating stories about its history and inhabitants.

At a local auction, James and Mark put their skills to the test as they bid against each other and other dealers for a range of items, including a Victorian chiffonier, a Georgian silver inkstand, and a set of WWII medals. Who will come out on top and make the most profit?

After five days of adventure, rivalry, and discovery, the dealers return to their base in London to tally up their profits and losses. Who has made the best deals and who has come up short? Find out in episode 20 of Antiques Road Trip season 1.
