In Episode 5 of season 13 of Antiques Road Trip, two antique experts set out on a road trip to see who can make the most profit from buying and selling antiques. The experts, Christina Trevanion and Raj Bisram, start their journey in the English county of Cheshire, where they visit a local auction house to find their first items to sell.
Christina seems to have the upper hand early on, as she purchases an antique Chinese vase for a reasonable amount of money. She hopes to sell it for a large profit at a future auction. Raj, on the other hand, struggles to find good items to buy and sell for a profit.
Their next stop is in the city of Liverpool, where Christina manages to find a unique piece of furniture made from old car parts. Raj, however, fails to find anything worthwhile and is starting to fall behind in their competition.
As they make their way to the seaside town of Morecambe, Christina leaves Raj behind and manages to find several good items that she thinks will sell well. But Raj is not giving up and he manages to buy an unusual piece of taxidermy that has the potential to be a big earner.
Their final stop is in the Scottish Borders, where Christina sets her sights on a large antique cabinet. She puts all her money on the line to buy it, hoping that it will make her the winner of the competition. Raj, meanwhile, decides to take a gamble and puts all his money into an old wine barrel.
Back in the auction house, both experts are nervous as they watch their items go under the hammer. Christina's confidence seems to falter as the bidding for her cabinet slows down, but Raj's gamble on the wine barrel pays off as it sells for a significant profit.
The final results are in, and it is a tight race. But in the end, only one expert can come out on top. Will it be Christina with her risky investment in the antique cabinet? Or will it be Raj with his unexpected success with the wine barrel? Tune in to find out in Episode 5 of season 13 of Antiques Road Trip.
