In Detroit - Hour 3 of Antiques Roadshow's 18th season, antique enthusiasts and appraisers gather in the beautiful Motor City to uncover the hidden treasures of Detroit. In this episode, host Mark L. Walberg and appraisers shed light on some exciting items brought in by locals to discover their worth and history.

The show starts off on a high note as a lady brings in a rare and beautiful book of etchings that were done in the 16th century. Appraiser Calvin H. French, a specialist in Rare Books & Manuscripts, examines the book and provides information on how they were printed, the binding of the book, the etchings, and their artistic value. The woman is thrilled to learn the book is worth much more than she had previously anticipated.

Next, a gentleman arrives with a painting which has been passed down through generations. The painting was believed to have been painted by one of the Hudson River School painters but the signature is hard to identify. Appraiser Laura Woolley, an expert in Paintings & Drawings, examines the painting and provides some fascinating information about the Hudson River School painters, the artistic style and history of the painting, and the painting's value.

Following that, a gentleman arrives with a set of golf clubs that he believes might have belonged to a golfing legend. The appraiser Nicholas Lowry, an expert in Sports Memorabilia, examines the clubs with great detail, comparing them to other golf clubs belonging to famed golfers. The appraiser is able to authenticate the club as belonging to an important golfing legend, but the estimated value is not what the owner is hoping for, nonetheless it was an exciting experience.

Another lady brings in a collection of hand-painted plates decorated with beautiful flowers. She tells the appraiser, Alan Katz, that the plates were once owned by her grandmother who collected them over many years. The appraiser examines each plate, studying the painting techniques, and determining the origin of the plates. The collection turns out to be quite unique and worth much more than the owner had imagined.

Finally, a lady arrives with a strange metal contraption, which she believes was used to measure the distance between two points. Appraiser David Rago, an expert in 20th Century Design, is fascinated by the device and works hard to decipher its original purpose and origins. From the intricate details of the device, he is able to provide a detailed explanation and the estimated value.

Throughout this episode of Antiques Roadshow, Mark L. Walberg and his team of appraisers take viewers on a journey through Detroit's rich history, uncovering the stories of unique and valuable items that people have treasured and kept for decades.
