Bad Move is a British comedy series that premiered on ITV in 2017. The show follows the lives of Steve and Nicky, a middle-aged couple who decide to leave the stresses of city life behind and move to a quiet village in the countryside. However, their new life is not as idyllic as they had hoped, as they soon discover that rural living comes with its own set of challenges.

The show is led by a talented cast, including Jack Dee as Steve and Kerry Godliman as Nicky. Both actors bring a natural comedic talent to their roles, with Dee playing the grumpy, pessimistic Steve and Godliman offering a more optimistic, bubbly portrayal of Nicky. The dynamic between the two leads is the driving force behind the show, with their constant bickering and disagreements providing plenty of laughs.

Joining Dee and Godliman in the cast is Miles Jupp, who plays the couple's overly-friendly neighbor, Matt. Jupp's character is a bit of an oddball, often finding himself in unusual and embarrassing situations. His presence adds a quirky and eccentric element to the show.

Bad Move's premise is relatively simple, with each episode focusing on the couple's struggles to adapt to their new surroundings. While the show primarily centers around their mishaps and misadventures, it also touches on more serious topics such as marriage, family, and social class. Despite these weightier themes, the show remains lighthearted and never takes itself too seriously.

Throughout its two-season run, Bad Move received mixed reviews from critics. Some praised the show's strong performances and witty humor, while others criticized its predictable plotlines and lack of originality. Despite these criticisms, the series was well-received by audiences, with many praising its warm and engaging tone.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of Bad Move is its picturesque setting. The show is filmed on location in the Yorkshire Dales, and the stunning scenery serves as the perfect backdrop for Steve and Nicky's misadventures. The show's creators make good use of the natural beauty of the area, often incorporating outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing into the plot.

Overall, Bad Move is a charming and engaging show that is sure to appeal to fans of British comedy. While it may not break any new ground in terms of plot, its strong performances and warm humor make it a worthwhile watch.
