Ep 7. Mama's Boy

Detectives Russ Agnew and Milton Chamberlain investigate a series of home invasions that have been occurring in Battle Creek. One of the victims is a woman named Loretta, who is also the mother of a suspect from a previous case. The detectives soon discover that the suspect, named Carl, has recently been released from prison and has been living with his mother.

Russ and Milton begin to suspect that Carl may be responsible for the home invasions, but they have trouble gathering evidence. Meanwhile, Russ becomes more and more concerned about his sister Holly, who has been struggling with drug addiction. He turns to his AA sponsor for advice, but the situation becomes complicated when Holly disappears.

As the investigation into the home invasions intensifies, Russ and Milton face pressure from their superior to catch the culprit quickly. They follow leads and interview potential witnesses, but find themselves at a dead end. However, when they finally confront Loretta and Carl, they are able to uncover a surprising connection between the home invasions and a local drug dealer.

Throughout the episode, Russ and Milton also deal with personal issues. Russ continues to struggle with his relationship with Holly, while Milton confronts his own demons and tries to come to terms with his homosexuality.

In the end, the detectives are able to solve the case and bring the culprit to justice. However, the experience leaves them both with a deeper understanding of the challenges they face, both in their personal lives and in their work as police officers in Battle Creek.
