In Be Our Chef season 1 episode 6, titled "Slimy Yet Satisfying," the four remaining families compete to create a dish inspired by The Little Mermaid using seafood as the main ingredient. The challenge takes place on the beach with a stunning backdrop of the ocean waves. Chef Gabe Kennedy explains that seafood doesn't have to be slimy and that there are many different types of seafood that can be used in various dishes.

The families head to the seafood market to pick out their ingredients. They are allowed to use any type of seafood they want, as well as other ingredients to enhance their dishes. The families are excited to be able to create their own recipes and embark on a culinary adventure.

Back in the kitchen, the families get to work, and tensions are high as they all strive to create the perfect dish. Chef Gabe visits each family to offer guidance and advice, ensuring that they are on the right track. He encourages them to take risks and try new things.

As the clock ticks down, the tension increases. The families are racing to get their dishes completed and plated in time for the judges to taste them. The judges include Chef Gabe, Disneyland Resort's Executive Chef Andrew Sutton, and a special guest judge, John Stamos. Each family presents their dish to the judges, who carefully evaluate the flavor, presentation, and creativity of each dish.

The judges are impressed with the diversity of dishes presented to them, from crab cakes with mango salsa to scallop risotto to lobster tacos. The flavors of the dishes are outstanding, and the presentation is beautiful. However, one family falls short in their dish, and they are sent home. The remaining three families move on to the next challenge.

The episode ends with the judges discussing the strengths and weaknesses of each dish and the creative approaches taken by the families. They also give advice for home cooks who want to experiment with seafood and encourage them to think outside the box. The audience is left feeling inspired to try their own seafood dish and perhaps even bring a little bit of The Little Mermaid magic to their dinner table.
