In Beauty and the Beast (2012) season 1 episode 6, titled "Worth," the main focus is on the character of Vincent Keller (played by Jay Ryan). Vincent is a former soldier who was experimented on by the government with a serum that turned him into a powerful, beastly creature with enhanced senses and strength. He was rescued and cared for by a doctor named Catherine Chandler (played by Kristin Kreuk), and the two have since developed a romantic relationship.

In this episode, Vincent is contacted by an old army buddy named Kirk Harrison (played by Tom Everett Scott). Kirk is in town to attend a corporate conference and asks Vincent to catch up for old times' sake. Vincent agrees but later discovers that Kirk is not the same man he used to be. Kirk is now a ruthless businessman who has made a fortune selling a dangerous weaponized drone. The drone has already caused the death of a 6-year-old boy in Afghanistan, and Kirk doesn't seem to care, insisting that it's worth it for the profits.

Vincent is conflicted about what to do. On the one hand, he feels a sense of loyalty to Kirk, who he served with in the military. On the other hand, he knows that Kirk's actions are causing harm and he wants to stop him. He tells Catherine about Kirk's drone and she urges him to take action. Vincent talks to Kirk and tries to convince him to take down the drone, citing the little boy who died as a reason to feel sympathy. Kirk responds callously, and Vincent realizes that he needs to do something more drastic to stop him.

Meanwhile, Catherine is dealing with her own problems. She is still investigating her mother's murder, which she believes is tied to a mysterious organization called Muirfield - the same organization that experimented on Vincent. She meets with a scientist who used to work for Muirfield and is able to get some information about their operations. She also begins to have a strange feeling that she is being followed. Her investigation leads her to a confrontation with Muirfield agent Bob Reynolds (played by Alan Van Sprang), who warns her to stop meddling in their affairs.

As the episode progresses, Vincent's and Catherine's storylines converge. Kirk's drone goes on a test run, but Vincent is able to sabotage it so that it crashes and doesn't cause any harm. However, Kirk still wants revenge on Vincent for ruining his plans. He has Vincent attacked and beaten up, but Catherine comes to his rescue and helps him escape. They realize that Kirk has planted a bomb at the conference center, and they race to stop it from going off.

In the end, Vincent and Catherine are able to defuse the bomb just in time. Kirk is arrested for his crimes, but Vincent is left feeling conflicted. He wonders if he made the right choice in turning on his former friend. Catherine assures him that he did the right thing, and the two embrace.

Overall, "Worth" is a tense and action-packed episode that delves deeper into the conflicts and ethical dilemmas that Vincent and Catherine face as they try to balance their personal and professional lives. The themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the costs of warfare are explored in a nuanced and compelling way, making for an engaging and thought-provoking installment of the series.
