- 2 Seasons
"Bedlam" is the hit suspence thriller from the television network BBC America. The main plot of the series in Season One is about an old insane asylum called Bedlam Heights that was converted into high class apartments. The new residents at this hip new address in London do not realize right away that the building is haunted. As time goes on many unexpected attacks by violent spirits begin to happen to the residents at certain times of the night. Although a few people have tried various things to keep the spirits away from them, in truth it is an act of futility. Horrible visions, phone calls in the dead of night, plus other supernatural happenings that remain completely unexplainable. One resident must save his lover from a cursed object with a very dark past, while others experience different encounters. Twists at every turn in the six episodes of Season One that leave viewers to wonder what will happen next. In Season Two, Bedlam Heights is renamed Brightmoor in an atempt to erase part of the dark past of the hauntings. Yet, the tennants that move into the building begin again to experience strange and terrifying things inside. No matter what is done, the spectural imprint left behind from the days of the insane asylum has left a dark mark in London. No one ever knows whether a building has a dark past or not, but in the chance that it does, better to leave rather than live there. This series follows a plot line much like a nineteenth century gothic horror novel that involves dark powerful forces that prey on the living. Secrets are abundant within the walls of the converted asylum that leave many viewers wondering what can happen next. Looks can be deceiving when looking for a place to live and in the slim chance that the building is haunted, it can be much like the series "Bedlam". Next time when a person goes property hunting, buyer beware.
