Growing Up Gotti
- 4 Seasons
The reality television show Growing Up Gotti from A&E, showcases the every day life of Victoria Gotti. Victoria is the daughter of former mob boss John Gotti and she has her hands full trying to raise three sons as a single, working mother. Victoria Gotti first gained national attention because of her famous father, but was able to successfully parlay that fame in to a career as a busy author and television correspondent. Growing Up Gotti shows Victoria's struggles not only to support her family financially, but also to bring up her three sons to be responsible adults. She faces the normal struggles of getting her children to focus on grades and not girls, along with the not so normal struggles of having a father (and grandfather) who was one of the most famous mob bosses in history. Victoria doesn't have an easy time with her boys as they all have minds of their own and often times the boys are more interested in how their hair looks then how to become successful. Victoria's oldest, Carmine is 19 and a college student who's interested in music and cars. The middle child John, who's named after his famous grandfather, is 18 and also in college. John is a good student, but tends to focus more on fashion and style then his mom feels he should. The youngest son, Frank, aged 15 is named after Victoria's brother who died at age 12. Frank is a good cook and has already followed in his mother's footsteps by publishing a diet book. Growing up Gotti follows the family as Victoria tries to date, much to her children's dismay, and also as she struggles to balance her successful careers and home life. Despite all of their difficulties and disagreements, the Gotti family always manages to sit down to Sunday Dinner together to confirm how much they need each other and how important family truly is to this close knit group.
