Ep 1. Kingdom of Predators

In the first episode of Big Cat Tales season 2, titled "Kingdom of Predators," we follow the lives of the big cats residing in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy in Kenya. This conservancy is home to a variety of predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, which fiercely compete for food and territory.

The episode begins with a look at the lives of two female lions, Bibi and Siti. These two sisters are a formidable duo, with Bibi being the larger and more dominant of the two. We witness their hunting skills as they take down a wildebeest in the plains. However, their meal is quickly threatened by a pack of hyenas, and the two lions must defend their kill.

We also meet Bahati, a young cheetah who is struggling to learn the skills she needs to survive on her own. Her mother is nowhere to be found, and she must fend for herself in order to make it to adulthood. We see her unsuccessfully attempt to hunt, and then later witness her being chased by a male cheetah. This encounter shows the dangers that young cheetahs face, as they are not only competing with other predators for food, but also facing threats from their own species.

Next, we are introduced to a male leopard named Ole Nkopai. This elusive predator is known for his size and strength, and is feared by many in the conservancy. We watch as he stalks his prey, a group of impala, and witness his impressive skills as he brings down one of the herbivores.

The episode also delves into the relationships between the different predators in the conservancy. We see how the cheetahs, who are the weakest of the big cats, must avoid the other predators in order to survive. They are often chased away from their kills by hyenas or lions, and must use speed to escape danger. The lions, on the other hand, are the top predators in the conservancy, and are not afraid to assert their dominance over other animals.

Throughout "Kingdom of Predators," we witness the struggles and triumphs of the big cats living in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy. From the fierce competition for food and territory, to the challenges facing young predators as they attempt to survive on their own, this episode showcases the harsh reality of life in the wild. But we also see the beauty and majesty of these incredible animals, as they show us what it takes to survive in the Kingdom of Predators.
