But when he's moved into the big pen with the other bears, he must learn to get along or risk a cold, lonely winter hibernating on his own.

New cub Renny hides in the cub pen atop a pole, too afraid to come down and eat, while the bully-cub Dion lurks below. To survive, Renny must summon all his courage to challenge Dion. In Mackenzie, BC, Angelika and Peter try to rescue three orphaned cubs high in the tree-tops. They recruit a local arborist and hope for the best.

Meanwhile Kim tries to keep a moose named Dante alive, although he has the exact symptoms of another moose calf that just died of an incurable disease.

Tanja's parents are away and she's on a remote bear release when she learns one of the shelter's bears has just escaped. A conservation officer must risk the bear's life trying to re-capture it, so it can be taken to a proper release site and be freed with its sibling.
