As the second season of Big Windup! begins, we find Tajima and his teammates coming back to school after their summer break. The team is preparing for their upcoming scrimmages and they are feeling confident in their abilities. However, there is some tension between some members of the team that is causing some friction. One of the players, Mihashi, is feeling left out and unsure of his place on the team. Tajima, the team's catcher, tries to reassure him and make him feel more included.
