In the fantastical world of Areishia Spirit Academy, young boys from noble families are chosen to form contracts with powerful elemental spirits and become "Elementalers." These skilled warriors are tasked with protecting their land from demonic spirits that threaten their existence. In the first episode of Blade Dance of the Elementalers, titled "The Sword, the School, and the Fire Cat-Girl," we are introduced to Kamito Kazehaya, a former "Elementaler" who lost his powers.

The episode begins with Kamito disguised as a transfer student in the Areishia Spirit Academy for girls, a prestigious institution where young girls learn to become "Elementalers." Meanwhile, Kamito unintentionally assists Claire Rouge, a talented and confident noble girl, in calming a rampaging spirit in front of the entire school. Fascinated by his strength, Claire deduces Kamito's true identity despite his disguise. She confronts him, demanding an explanation for his presence in the academy. Despite his reluctance, Kamito reveals his true purpose to find information about the "Ragnarok."

As the day progresses, Kamito forms unexpected connections with other girls in the academy. He meets Rinslet Laurenfrost, a mischievous noble girl who displays exceptional deductive skills. Although skeptical of Kamito's intentions, Rinslet becomes intrigued by his enigmatic nature.

In another encounter, Kamito crosses paths with Ellis Fahrengart, the student council president and a highly respected "Elementaler." Ellis challenges Kamito to a duel to test his abilities, hoping to ascertain his true strength. Kamito accepts the challenge, even without his powers, and showcases his exceptional swordsmanship skills. Though he loses the duel, Kamito impresses Ellis and gains her respect.

Later in the day, Kamito stumbles upon a distraught and gloomy girl named Fianna Ray Ordesia. Recognizing her vulnerability, Kamito tries to comfort her and learns of a personal dilemma she faces. Fianna explains that she has lost the ability to summon spirits, jeopardizing her position as the academy's Student Council Vice President. Kamito empathizes with her, understanding the pain of losing one's powers. Moved by his words, Fianna starts to see Kamito as a potential source of support.

As the episode reaches its climax, Kamito, having used up all his disguise charms, is confronted by the academy's headmaster, Greyworth Ciel Mais. Surprisingly, Greyworth is aware of Kamito's true identity and agenda, revealing her vast knowledge of the "Ragnarok" and the true power of Kamito's sword. She hints at a deeper mystery surrounding the academy, but leaves Kamito with more questions than answers.
