Ep 4. What Experiment Does Blue Want To Try?

They use different colored tapes to mark off the different amounts of water and put the bottle outside in the yard.

After they finished the rain gauge experiment, Steve gets another letter from Joe about the experiment he did with his sister. They made an erupting volcano together and Joe says that it was really fun. Steve gets excited about the idea of making their own volcano and sets out to make it happen.

Steve and Blue first go to the kitchen to get the supplies they need to make the volcano. They gather baking soda, vinegar, a bottle, and a plate. Steve explains to Blue how baking soda and vinegar react and create a chemical reaction, so when they mix the two they will make the volcano erupt.

Together, they create a volcano by placing the bottle on the plate and piling baking soda around it to make the shape of a mountain. Then, they pour vinegar in the bottle and watch as the volcano erupts, creating a foaming eruption, which Steve and Blue find really exciting and amazing.

The episode comes to an end with Steve and Blue reflecting on the fun they had and all the things they learned. Steve encourages Blue to keep on thinking and coming up with new ideas for experiments. They decide to make a chart to compare the amount of rain collected by the rain gauge over time.
